Family Challenge 2023

Yorkshire Three Peaks

On Sunday 30 April 2023 the Family Challenge is getting even bigger as a new band of climbers will trek across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough as they take on Yorkshire’s Three Peaks.

This challenge will see those managing all three walking the length of a marathon while ascending more than if they climbed Ben Nevis.

However many peaks you manage, the sense of achievement climbers will have will be immense – the fact you will be raising money for our essential work at the same time will make you feel on top of the world!

The duration and difficulty means that taking on all three peaks is restricted to those over 10-years-old, so if your child is younger than that, we are also running an incredibly challenging Two Peaks event at the same time. Children raising money for other children is so important to us and we want to be able to include everyone. (phil@oscarspbtc.org)

Three Peaks registration and Two Peaks registration can be made via our event partners, RAW Adventures, but do feel free to get in touch with Phil to let us know you are taking part or to answer any questions you may have. All that we require when booking is a £25pp fee* to offset the costs of the event, meaning even more money goes straight to those that need it most. (*£20pp for Two Peaks.)

Our last challenge was a great success: 37 climbers raised over £15,000, but with your help we can make 2023 twice as big and fundraise twice as much towards supporting and caring for children with brain tumours, as well as creating greater awareness and helping with more research into this terrible disease.

Three Peaks climbers will start early on Sunday morning (around 7am) to allow for the long trek, which is around twelve hours in total. Two Peaks climbers will start a little later before their eight-and-a-half hour trek. Further details will follow. Here are some suggestions for accommodation that you can try to book.

We are very grateful to have the Three Peaks event sponsored by 1st Mortgage Services – a company that shares our charity’s values of family, security and people’s wellbeing.

The support of such companies is invaluable in the work we do and makes sure that as much money raised as possible can go directly to our work and we look forward to working with 1st Mortgage Services in the future.
