Sarah Hewson
Patron

We are thrilled to have the patronage of journalist and broadcaster Sarah Hewson. We feel privileged that Sarah has chosen to support OSCAR’s PBTC, as we continue our work to provide much needed funding towards research into paediatric brain tumours.
Sarah has 20 years’ experience anchoring some of the biggest national and international news stories.
She spent most of her career at Sky News where she presented every programme from Breakfast through to the flagship News At Ten and hosted her own weekly programme ‘Sky News with Sarah Hewson’.
Sarah has interviewed the last five UK prime ministers, six senior members of the royal family and high-profile figures from the worlds of business, sport and entertainment. She has reported from Westminster to the White House, the Amazon, Africa and Australia.
Sarah has covered major breaking stories including the 7/7 bombings, the London Bridge terror attack, the death of Osama Bin Laden as well as Britain’s Brexit negotiations and the coronavirus pandemic. She also anchored Sky’s coverage of two royal weddings and the funeral of the Duke Of Edinburgh last year.
As well as all this Sarah is a mother to three young children.
Sarah says, “Reading Oscar’s story for the first time, I was moved to tears and inspired by his bravery and determination to help others in the midst of his own pain and suffering. When I met his mum, Marie, I saw instantly where that determination and compassion came from. The charity has already achieved so much in a short space of time but there is lots more to do and I am proud and excited to be involved with the charity as it looks to fund cutting edge research to ensure that children in the future don’t have to suffer like Oscar.”
