Waterfall Challenge 2021

Waterfall Trail

Family Challenge 2021

OSCAR’s PBTC is back in 2021 with a brand new Family Challenge and we’re looking for adventure loving children to join us. This time we’re walking the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail on Sunday May 2 and we’ve made the challenge as accessible as possible, so it’s suitable for children aged from 4 upwards.

The Waterfalls Trail starts and finishes at Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s a circular route of around 8km which will take between 2 and 4 hrs to complete. The trail follows a well-defined footpath which runs as close to the edge of the two rivers as possible to provide spectacular views of the eight different waterfalls.

There’s a large car park at the start and finish point and a café half way round. Ingleton is around 25 miles away from Skipton and Kendal, so fully accessible from Yorkshire and the North West. There’s costs to cover on the day to walk the trail of £8 per adult and £4 per child, which is payable at the start at the kiosk in the carpark.

In order to make this event as COVID-proof as we possibly can, we won’t be walking in a large group with marshals this time. Instead we are asking families to agree to do the walk independently of the charity and within their own group or bubble and start the walk at any time during the day. If we are facing travel restrictions on May 2, then we ask that families complete the walk on a different day of their choice.

All children who do the walk will be provided with a t-shirt to walk in, a medal and certificate on completion, as well as a goody bag with food and drinks. We ask that all children who join us try and raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship money for completing their challenge. The funds we raise from the walk will go towards the new brain tissue bank in Leeds that we’re funding, which will revolutionise how brain tissue is used for research in our region.

Registration for the walk is now closed. If you want to register still, please email events@oscarspbtc.org
