Ben Nevis 2020

OSCARS Ben Nevis Challenge

Are You Ready For The Big One?

On Sunday 19 July 2020 we’re going to attempt the UK’s biggest mountain – Ben Nevis in Scotland.

This challenge is harder and longer than our previous weekends on Snowdon and Scafell. It will require proper training and the right kit for all families that do the walk. We’ll aim to start as early as possible on Sunday morning to allow for the walk up and down, which can be as long as 10 hours in total. We don’t want to put an age restriction in place, because all children have different levels of fitness and resilience, but families will need to have previous UK mountain walking experience.

Registration will take place between 5pm and 7pm on Saturday 18 July at the Glen Nevis Hostel in Fort William. There is lots of accommodation available in the Fort William area, but it does book up very quickly. We have a booking at the Glen Nevis Hostel in Fort William, so if you require accommodation with us then please indicate your choices on the form below. We require a £50 non refundable deposit for the accommodation booking with the balance due in June 2020 and will be in touch to confirm your accommodation booking and take the deposit after you book on to the walk.

Raw Adventures will handle health and safety, disclaimers and briefings, as well as providing a detailed kit list and trip notes. Walkers will take the pony track path up the mountain from the Glen Nevis Hostel, which is a 17km walk up and down and includes 1352 metres of ascent.

All children who do the walk will be provided with a t-shirt to walk in and a medal and certificate on completion. We ask that all children who join us try and raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship money.

To register for the walk, please fill out the form below. There’s a £30 fee per family and the charity will cover all other costs on the mountain.
