We’re looking for cyclists to join one of the hardest challenges we’ve ever seen – the Coast to Coast Ultra Challenge. Taking place on Saturday 24th June, the challenge covers the Way of the Roses cycle route from Morecambe to Bridlington in just one day.

Traditionally cycled in 3-5 days, the 171 mile route goes through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, through Ripon to York and then out to Bridlington. The riders will be fully supported by back up vehicles, spare bikes, tools and refreshments.

The group will leave Morecambe at 6.30am and aim to cover the 62 miles through Settle and Burnsall before stopping for an early lunch in Pateley Bridge. The next section is an easy 53 mile stretch on to Dunnington for a BBQ tea with family and friends before setting off on the final 56 mile leg to Bridlington to finish around 10pm.

We welcome anyone who wants to ride the full distance with us and can ask for sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues. There is no minimum sponsorship level to raise but for the average cyclist this is a tough challenge and justifies asking for donations. We have one JustGiving page for the whole group to use:

In addition, we have people joining us to ride either the Pateley Bridge to Dunnington leg (53 miles) or the Dunnington to Bridlington leg (56 miles). We aim to ride at an average speed of 15mph to make the full 171 miles in one day.
